Thursday is the new Saturday. We're kidding, but honestly why not have your wedding on a Thursday?! We say hell to the yes! If you're doing a destination wedding in the Outer Banks, you're most likely staying for a week. And, if you're guests are smart, they're most likely taking those vacation days and staying for awhile too! Week day weddings mean more availability, possible venue/vendor discounts, bare beaches, less traffic, and the list goes on.
That takes us to Chelsea and Greg. These smarty pants opted for a weekday wedding and it was 100%. We met these two at the infamous Outer Banks Wedding Expo hosted by the Outer Banks Wedding Association (by the way if you're coming this year it's going to epic, just click that link to find out all the details!) After connecting, these two decided to book us for partial planning. This is when a couple already has a venue, vision, and maybe a few vendors secured, but they decide they want us to jump on and help with the remainder of the planning. This is custom style package that is a little bit different for every client dependent on where they are in the planning process. If you didn't already know, wedding planning can easily become overwhelming and a lot of times couples don't realize that until they've started! That's where we swoop in!
The soon to be Klatte's had their wedding ceremony on the beach in front of a traditional Old Nags Head style cottage. The bridal party got ready amongst the charming wood paneling and the 'this way to the beach' signs hung throughout the home. Keeping true to the island, the couple kept with the theme of all sand and starfish! The ceremony was set up in a unique circular style so every guest had the perfect view, while also giving an intimate feel. A driftwood arbor was adorned with a mix of bright, colorful florals. After a short ceremony, complete with the couple doing the 'tying of the knot' ceremony, guests headed to downtown Manteo to the quaint reception venue, 108 Budleigh. Guests were welcomed with mini white beach buckets full of sweet treats and custom matchboxes that also told them where they'd be sitting. Tables were dressed with white linens, seafoam green napkins and wooden table numbers. The centerpieces caught the eye of everyone, as they were unlike any other. In the middle of every table sat a clear fish bowl with real fish swimming inside, topped with a floating candle for ambiance.
The night turned out to be a beautiful September evening, full of good food, good drinks, delicious cupcakes, s'mores and unlimited games of corn hole out on the lawn under cafe lights. Everyone partied the night away and sent the couple off with sparklers.
Chelsea and Greg, you two are perfect for one another. So caring and kind to others with the perfect punch of fun. Who doesn't love a couple that has a tray of shots ready for their bridal party at the conclusion of photos?! We are truly so excited for you to welcome your new little fireman into the family in March. He's one lucky guy to have you both! We hope you enjoy some of their wedding photos below!
